(GSM) – A late strike by Mario Sánchez gave Venezuela a 2-1 friendly victory over World Cup-bound Korea DPR on Saturday.
It took the home side just eight minutes to take the lead when José Luis Granados struck the opener for Venezuela, and they managed to hold that led until midway in the second half.
At that point, Mun In-Guk equalized for the Koreans, who improved after the restart.
Then, with less than a minute to play, Sánchez headed home the winning goal to knock off Korea DPR, who open Group G play in South Africa on 15 June against Brazil.
It was the second friendly in three days between the two sides, who drew 1-1 in the previous encounter.
