Inter Milan are in talks with Lautaro Martinez over a new contract, according to Fabrizio Romano, and an agreement over a five-year deal is close. Nicolo Barella and Marcelo Brozovic are the next two in that line.
Martinez has been linked with departure from the club for a long time. The forward was a subject of strong interest from Barcelona last year as they sought for a replacement for Luis Suarez, but the Catalan club were unwilling to trigger his release clause of €111 million and the move didn’t happen. A number of other clubs have reportedly expressed an interest since, most notably Arsenal during the talks about Hector Bellerin, but Inter are obviously not to lose the Argentinian after selling Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea.
Head coach Simone Inzaghi is counting on Barella and Brozovic as well, and like Lautaro, the two midfielders are said to be attracting attention of top clubs across Europe.
