Lazio agree interesting deal for Caceres

Il Corriere dello Sport has learned that Lazio are on the verge of signing Uruguayan defender Martin Caceres.

The 30-year-old is a free agent again following a short spell with Southampton and he has now found an agreement with the Serie A side.

However, rather than adding them to their squad now, the Biancocelesti will do so in January, since they only have one non-EU slot left and they plan to fill it with a new striker.

Therefore, Caceres will instead sign a six-month contract with newly promoted Hellas Verona, before moving to Stadio Olimpico in the New Year.

The versatile footballer managed to prove his fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines and he should get some more minutes under his belt with the Gialloblu.
