Italian clubs Lazio and Fiorentina are keeping close tabs on Werder Bremen defender Sebastian Prodl, Austrian newspaper Kurier can reveal.
The experienced defender is almost certain to leave the Bundesliga side when his contract expires in the summer and he is free to speak with interested clubs.
According to Kurier, Lazio and Fiorentina could rekindle their interest having previously attempted to lure the Austria international to Italy.
While the Biancocelesti lack cover for Stefan Radu, Viola might need to recruit a new left-back in case Manuel Pasqual leaves in the summer.
Sebastian Prodl joined Werder Bremen from Sturm Graz back in 2008 and has since made a total of 139 Bundesliga appearances and scored 9 goals.
He started the season as a first team regular but was relegated to the bench after refusing to sign a new contract.
Prodl’s suitors Fiorentina host Tottenham tomorrow evening in Europa League and they can be backed at 21/20 to win the return match.
