Feyenoord have rejected an official proposal from Lazio for star defender Stefan de Vrij, according to Voetbal International.
The Biancocelesti are in desperate need of defensive reinforcements with the likes of Giuseppe Biava and Andre Dias widely expected to leave.
As a result, they have been looking at a number of high-profile players and Feyenoord starlet appears to be high on their hit-list.
Voetbal International has learned that Lazio already had a €5 million bid rejected for de Vrij, but the Biancocelesti are likely to return with a new proposal.
Stefan de Vrij, 22, is widely tipped to leave Feyenoord for greener pastures in the summer, having spent five very successful years at De Kuip.
Despite his fragile age, the centre-back has amassed a total of 135 Eredivisie appearances, while he currently has 10 Netherlands caps to his name.
Stefan de Vrij is expected to make Louis van Gaal’s final World Cup squad, with the Netherlands 4/7 to progress from Group B.
