Lazio midfielder Cristian Ledesma could be moving to Major League Soccer in the summer transfer window, La Gazzetta dello Sport has learned.
The 32-year-old was on the verge of joining Inter Milan in January, and he has now decided to quit Stadio Olimpico when his contract expires in June.
And while Fiorentina and Bologna have shown interest in his signature, everything suggests the Argentine will be leaving Italy after 15 years.
Namely, Ledesma has been contacted by both Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls, so it appears that the MLS will be his next destination.
Premier League high-flyers Southampton are also in the mix, and the midfielder will have plenty of time to make a decision on his future.
After coming through the youth ranks at Boca Juniors, Ledesma began his professional career at Lecce and went on to make 126 league appearances for the club before joining Lazio in 2006.
The midfielder even made one appearance for Italy, his adopted country.
