Italian daily Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are stepping up their interest in Genoa defenders Andreas Granqvist and Luca Antonelli.
The Biancocelesti have loaned midfielder Matuzalem to Genoa in January and the two clubs are now in talks to make the deal permanent.
Lazio president Claudio Lotito has used the opportunity to express his interest in Andreas Granqvist and Luca Antonelli as he hopes to lure the two players to Stadio Olimpico in the summer transfer window.
Other Italian clubs are also keen on the duo, but Lotito is hoping the excellent relationship with president Enrico Preziosi will help him win the race.
The Biancocelesti plan to sign Luca Antonelli to provide competition for Stefan Radu on the left flank, while his teammate would help add more steel to the back line.
Lazio’s plans for the upcoming season will depend on whether the team can pip Udinese to the final Europa League berth on the final day of the league campaign.
