Italian newspaper La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Lazio are in pole position to sign Serbian striker Filip Djordjevic from Nantes.
The Biancocelesti have been hot on the trail on the 26-year-old forward for quite a while, and they were planning to try and add him to their ranks in the January window.
However, with the player expressing his desire to finish the current season at Nantes, it appears he will be joining Lazio at the end of the campaign.
Djordjevic will be a free agent next summer, meaning he can already sign a pre-contract agreement, and the latest reports are suggesting that Lazio are winning the chase for his signature.
Inter Milan are also believed to be keen, but the striker reportedly prefers a switch to Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio officials see Djordjevic as a good long-term replacement for Miroslav Klose, who is set to leave the club at the end of the season.
