Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are on the verge of agreeing a deal for Empoli defender Lorenzo Tonelli.
The Biancocelesti plan to shake up their defensive options in the summer transfer window and allow two or three players to leave the club.
At the same time, they are in the market for central defenders and latest reports suggest they are set to complete the deal for Lorenzo Tonelli.
Lazio will pay around €10 million for the 26-year-old footballer, who has shown a great deal of potential in his first two Serie A campaigns.
Tonelli, who had come through the youth ranks at Empoli, made 109 Serie B appearances for the club before scoring impressive 7 goals in 50 Serie A outings.
The highly rated centre-back, who can also deputize at right-back, now gets a chance to continue his career at Lazio, and first Italy call-up may not be too far away.
