Italian giants Lazio have moved to confirm that veteran striker Miroslav Klose will be leaving the club at the end of the season.
The German forward will be out of contract in June, but following some very good performances of late, he was expected to be offered a new deal.
However, it is now clear that Klose will soon end the very successful stint at Stadio Olimpico, with Lazio having confirmed that the game against Fiorentina will be his last for the club.
“See you on Sunday at Olimpico to salute Miro,” Lazio wrote via their official Twitter account.
Miroslav Klose had joined the Biancocelesti on a free transfer from Bayern Munich five years ago and he would go on to become one of the best signings in club’s recent history.
The 37-year-old managed to score 53 goals in 138 Serie A appearances, despite being in an advanced stage of his career.
It remains to be seen whether Klose will hang up his boots this summer or maybe move to Major League Soccer having been linked with a switch to United States on numerous occasions in the past.
