Lazio eyeing Gonzalo Bergessio

Lazio are readying summer bid for Catania striker Gonzalo Bergessio, La Gazzetta dello Sport has revealed.

The Biancocelesti have already secured the signature of Serbian striker Filip Djordjevic, but with Miroslav Klose nearing summer exit, they plan to sign another high-profile attacker.

La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested that Lazio aim to try and lure Catania’s Gonzalo Bergessio to Stadio Olimpico.

Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito has a very good relationship with Gli Elefanti chiefs and he is confident he can wrap up the deal for Argentine attacker.

Gonzalo Bergessio has enjoyed several very good seasons on personal level at Catania, having bagged 31 goals in 103 Serie A outings.

However, with Gli Elefanti likely to get relegated this season, the 29-year-old will probably jump at the opportunity to join Lazio.

Catania currently sit huge seven points behind safety and are available at 8/1 to defeat AC Milan at San Siro and keep their survival hopes alive.
