Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are considering a move for Parma defender Gabriel Paletta.
The Biancocelesti are in the market for a new central defender and they have been in talks for Stefan de Vrij and Davide Astori.
However, with negotiations for the two players producing no results, they look set to turn their attention to Parma’s Gabriel Paletta.
The Argentine-born defender has developed into one of league’s top stoppers and he was even included in Cesare Prandelli’s World Cup squad after switching his allegiance to Italy. He was in the starting line-up as the Azzurri defeated England.
Paletta is widely tipped to leave I Ducali for a bigger club this summer, with a number of Serie A sides keen on his services.
The 28-year-old has spent last four seasons at Parma having joined from Boca Juniors, making a total of 116 Serie A appearances and scoring 5 goals.
