Brazilian stopper Rodrigo Caio has emerged as a top target for Serie A side Lazio, Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested.
The Biancocelesti are eager to find a perfect partner for Stefan de Vrij and after Marcelo Bielsa opted against signing Jardel from Benfica, the Brazilian footballer is at the centre of club’s attention.
Caio has been linked with Juventus, Roma, Sevilla and Atletico Madrid in the past, and he is valued at €12 million.
He is widely regarded as one of Brazil’s most talented defenders and represented the Selecao at the 2016 Copa America, while also being named in the country’s squad for the Summer Olympics.
Despite his fragile age, the 22-year-old has already made 135 league appearances for Sao Paulo, scoring 8 goals.
Caio is widely expected to move to Europe this summer and there is a good chance he will end up at Stadio Olimpico.
