Fallen giants of Italian football Lazio are hot on the trail of Feyenoord defender Sven van Beek, La Gazzetta dello Sport has suggested.
The Biancocelesti have struggled to find a defensive partner for Stefan de Vrij, and the latest reports suggest they could again be shopping at De Kuip.
Namely, Lazio are keeping close tabs on Feyenoord centre-back Sven van Beek, the latest talent to have emerged from club’s famous youth academy.
While Fiorentina have long been showing interest in the 22-year-old footballer, he could now end up at Lazio as the Biancocelesti have so far failed to make progress in an attempt to recruit Brazilian defender Rodrigo Caio from Sao Paulo.
Sven van Beek was handed his first team debut during the 2013/2014 season, and he went on to make 75 Eredivisie appearances for Feyenoord, quickly becoming an important member of the squad at De Kuip.
