Lazio are finally set to agree new deal with Dutch defender Stefan de Vrij, according to Tuttosport.
The two parties have been locked in talks for several weeks now as the amount of the release clause was the main issue.
Namely, De Vrij was only prepared to extend his stay at Stadio Olimpico if a sensible buy-out clause was included, but Lazio seem to have stood their ground as well.
According to reports, the 25-year-old will soon sign a new deal until June 2020, with a €30 million release clause.
Considering that De Vrij continues to be linked with some of Europe’s best clubs, he could very well be leaving at the end of the season, but at least Lazio will be in for a nice payoff in case that happens.
