Italian giants Lazio are weighing up a January bid for Rennes forward Paul-Georges Ntep, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
It is no secret the Biancocelesti are keen on the talented footballer and they appear to have decided to make their interest concrete.
Namely, Lazio will be short of options up front when Balde Diao Keita leaves for Africa Cup of Nations and they want to add Ntep to their ranks in the January window.
The 24-year-old will be out of contract at the end of the season, but he has already made it clear that he does not want to leave les Bretons on a free transfer.
Ntep could very well sign a new deal before moving to Stadio Olimpico, as he believes Rennes should be entitled to a decent transfer fee after helping him get his career back on track.
The former Auxerre starlet has scored a total of 16 goals in 64 Ligue 1 outings for les Bretons.
