The agent of Galatasaray star Burak Yilmaz has confirmed that Lazio have submitted an official proposal for his client.
It is no secret the Biancocelesti are determined to sign a high-profile centre forward before the transfer window closes and they have made the Turkey international their number one target.
It has now been revealed that Lazio were the only side to make an official offer for the player’s services, even if the proposal was eventually rejected by the Galatasaray chiefs.
“The Biancocelesti have made an important offer for the player, which was not accepted at the time because the Turkish club don’t want to let him leave,” Yilmaz’s agent Ali Egesel told Turkish Radio Radyospor.
It is believed that Galatasaray are holding out for €15 million, but Lazio are not prepared to give up on the 28-year-old just yet.
The Biancocelesti are reportedly readying a new bid for Yilmaz, hoping the Turkish club would agree to lower the asking price.
The Turkey international is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most prolific strikers, having scored 32 goals in 39 competitive matches last term.
