Lazio in shock link for Holger Badstuber

Serie A outfit Lazio are keeping close tabs on Stuttgart defender Holger Badstuber, according to Il Tempo.

The Bianconeri recently learned that star stopper Stefan de Vrij will be leaving at the end of the season and they are now trying to find a suitable replacement.

Latest reports suggest that former Bayern Munich centre-back Holger Badstuber has emerged as one of the targets due to his experience and the fact he will become a free agent in June.

The 28-year-old did well to get his career back on track at Stuttgart after recovering from a difficult injury, starting 15 Bundesliga fixtures this term.

Having also showed some promise during the loan spell with Schalke last term, Badstuber could now get a chance to return to the biggest stage.
