Italian newspaper Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Lazio have opened talks to sign Chievo forward Cyril Thereau.
The Biancocelesti officials have been impressed with the experienced player, and they have already stepped up their interest.
According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio chairman Claudio Lotito met last week with his Chievo counterpart Luca Campedelli to open negotiations over Cyril Thereau.
The Frenchman is a very versatile player, who can play across a number of positions up front and the Biancocelesti believe he has what it takes to succeed at Stadio Olimpico.
With the player’s contract due to expire in June 2014, there is every chance that Lazio won’t have to break the bank to sign him in the summer transfer window.
Cyril Thereau, 29, has spent last three years at Stadio Bentegodi, and he has been in fine form this season, scoring 7 goals and producing 5 assists in 29 Serie A fixtures.
