According to a recent report from Sky Sport Italia, Lazio have approached Real Madrid with the intention of trying to sign Borja Mayoral.
The 23-year-old is currently on loan at Levante, but the expectation is that he will leave on a permanent deal this summer. With Real reaching the top of Spanish football once again by capturing the La Liga title, the battle for places in the starting XI is going to be more competitive than ever before.
Mayoral is talented but in order to get himself back into the discussion of playing for a top team in Spain, it does feel as if he needs to prove himself elsewhere.
Lazio are starting to really gain some momentum in Serie A, to the point where they could be legitimate title contenders in the next few years – and additions like Mayoral will certainly help with that given how competitive the league is becoming.
