Lazio are the latest club to have joined the race for Queens Park Rangers star Adel Taarabt, Il Corriere dello Sport has reported.
The Biancocelesti are hoping to stay competitive following a very successful season and they have set their sights on the Morocco international.
Taarabt’s scintillating performances are the main reason why QPR are on the verge of gaining promotion to the Premiership and his impressive showings haven’t gone unnoticed.
Chelsea, Manchester United and Real Madrid have already expressed interest in the 21-year-old, and it now appears that Lazio are also in the mix.
The Moroccan’s contract with QPR doesn’t expire before June 2013, but Rangers face an uphill task of keeping hold of their star player amidst heavy interest from big European clubs.
Taarabt holds a French passport, meaning that Lazio wouldn’t use up their non-EU spot should they manage to sign him.
