Il Messaggero is reporting that Lazio have rekindled their interest in Genoa starlet Mattia Perin.
The Biancocelesti are not entirely satisfied with their current goalkeeping options that include veteran Federico Marchetti and youngster Thomas Strakosha, and they are in the market for a new number one.
According to Il Messaggero, Italy international Mattia Perin is high on their wish list for the summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old is widely regarded as one of Europe’s most talented shot stoppers, but several difficult injuries prevented him from showing all he’s got.
Lazio, however, believe he will be ready for the new season and they are prepared to take the gamble with the injury prone goalkeeper.
After coming through the youth ranks at Genoa, Perin enjoyed successful loan spells with Padova and Pescara before taking over as the Rossoblu number one and going on to make 110 Serie A outings for the club.
