Lazio launch assault on Honda

Lazio are showing interest in CSKA Moscow midfielder Keisuke Honda, Il Corriere dello Sport reveals.

The Bianconcelesti are eager to reinforce their creative department in January and have set their sights on Japanese playmaker Keisuke Honda.

According to Il Corriere dello Sport, Lazio have offered the Army Men €2 million for a loan until the end of the season.

Under the same agreement, the Serie A giants would have the option to make the transfer permanent in the summer for another €10 million.

Nevertheless, it is highly unlikely that CSKA chiefs will accept such a proposition as they value the Japanese international at €16 million.

Honda arrived to Moscow in a €6 million deal from VVV Venlo in January 2010, and has been an instant hit at Luzhniki.

The 25-year-old missed a big part of 2011 through a knee injury, but he has since resumed full training and is expected to help CSKA in the final part of the league campaign.
