Il Messaggero is reporting that Lazio have emerged as favourites to sign Swiss full-back Silvan Widmer.
The Biancocelesti appear to be in the market for a new right-sided defender and they have chosen the Switzerland international as their top target.
Three years after Dusan Basta made a move from Udinese to Lazio, Widmer is set to do the same and he should eventually succeed the Serbian as first choice right-back at Stadio Olimpico.
Lazio have submitted an €8 million offer for the 24-year-old footballer, and they are expected to close the deal soon, provided their rivals Napoli don’t come in with a last minute proposal.
Silvan Widmer spent last four years at Friuli having joined from Aarau, and he managed 2 goals and 16 assists in 116 competitive outings for the Zebrette.
