Serie A hot-shots Lazio have enjoyed a strong start to the new season.
Simone Inzaghi is doing a remarkable job with his talented and exciting squad but the Italian tactician is experiencing certain problems in the defensive department which saw his team concede in six out of seven matches in the new campaign.
And with Napoli stomping over Baincocelesti with a 4-1 victory at Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday night, the alarm bells are ringing.
Looking for a swift solution to the burning issue, Inzaghi seems to have turned his attention to free agents and Corriere dello Sport is suggesting that three names are currently being analysed.
Sebastien Bassong is said to be the first choice. The 31-year-old is out of contract with Norwich but his high demands are proving to be the main obstacle. Another experienced Premier League veteran Joleon Lescott is also in the combination but at the age of 35, he is not exactly the preferred choice.
Ultimately, Inzaghi has singled out Jose Chico, the 30-year-old Spanish defender who is familiar with the Italian football and who could be an easy fit in the Lazio squad. Former Genoa player has most recently played in Qatar.
Modibo Diakite and Joel Ekstrand are another two names on the list for Lazio.
