Lazio open talks for Biabiany

Lazio are reported to have started negotiations with Parma over the signing for midfielder Jonathan Biabiany, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.

In an attempt to improve the strength in depth, the Biancocelesti are hoping to sign another attacking midfielder to provide back-up for captain Stefano Mauri.

The Stadio Olimpico outfit seem to have set their sights on Parma midfielder Jonathan Biabiany, who has been showing a lot of promise of late.

The Frenchman is currently co-owned by Parma and Sampdoria, with Lazio looking to buy one half of the player’s rights.

Lazio president Claudio Lotito spoke with his Parma counterpart Tommaso Ghirardi at a Lega Calcio meeting on Friday and the two clubs appear to be close to reaching an agreement.

Jonathan Biabiany, who spent six months at Inter during the 2010/2011 season, has made a total of 71 Serie A appearances for Parma and registered 8 goals in the process.
