Serie A outfit Lazio are considering a late move for AC Milan striker Alessandro Matri, according to Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Biancocelesti have been on the lookout for a new centre forward ever since Filip Djordjevic suffered an ankle injury, but their move for Gonzalo Bergessio seems to have fallen through.
As a result, Lazio officials are exploring the possibility of signing Alessandro Matri from AC Milan.
The experienced forward is currently on loan at Genoa, but the Rossoblu would be prepared to let him leave if they can secure the signature of Marco Borriello.
Matri, who was also on Lazio’s radar a couple of years back, has kick-started his career at Stadio Luigi Ferraris, netting 7 times in 16 league outings before getting injured.
Having recalled Bryan Perea from Perugia, coach Stefano Pioli now have Klose, Keita and Perea as three options up front, so he may opt against adding a new player if Lazio fail to agree a deal for Matri.
