Serie A giants Lazio are preparing a January bid for FC Basel defender Fabian Schar, reports Il Corriere dello Sport.
The Bianconeri signed Stefan de Vrij and Santiago Gentiletti in the summer, but with the latter suffering a serious injury, they are again in the market for a central defender.
Seeing as how Mickael Ciani and Diego Novaretti are linked with moves away from the club, Lazio plan to recruit another high-quality stopper in January.
Il Corriere dello Sport has suggested that the Biancocelesti have rekindled their interest in Swiss defender Fabian Schar.
The 22-year-old, who has less than a year left on his deal with FC Basel, has yet to sign a contract extension, meaning that he could be available on a cut-price deal in the winter.
Schar has been linked with quite a few top clubs in the past, but Lazio aim to act quickly and secure the player’s signature.
