Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are readying January bid for long-term target Sebastian Haller.
The Biancocelesti have been keeping close tabs on the 22-year-old for quite some time and they could decide to step up their interest if Serbian striker Filip Djordjevic leaves in January.
Utrecht are believed to value their prized asset at €12 million, but Lazio officials hope they can agree a deal for €10m.
That will not be an easy task considering that the Frenchman has a long list of suitors among top European sides, but the Biancocelesti appear to be in pole position at the moment.
Haller initially joined Utrecht on a loan deal from Auxerre, before his contract was purchased by mere €750,000.
The towering striker has since impressed in Dutch Eredivisie, making 63 league appearances and scoring 34 goals in the process, and a big club move now seems on the horizon.
