Lazio have no intention of selling star striker Miroslav Klose, according to club’s sporting director Igli Tare.
The Germany international was recently linked with a summer exit from Olimpico, but it looks there is no truth in the speculations.
According to reports in Spain, Barcelona have shown interest in the veteran forward, but Lazio sporting director Igli Tare is adamant Klose is not for sale.
“Klose is not for sale. We have not received any offers for him,” Tare told Sky Sport Italia.
“If an offer was to arrive, we would not accept it because he is a crucial player for us.”
The 34-year-old joined Lazio on a free transfer from Bayern Munich last summer, after spending four very successful years with the German giants.
The striker enjoyed a bright start to his career in Italy, scoring 12 goals in 27 Serie A games, and he would have probably scored more if he hadn’t suffered a thigh injury in March.
Klose, nonetheless, made the final Germany Euro 2012 squad, but has fallen behind Mario Gomez in the pecking order.
