Espanyol striker Felipe Caicedo has been unveiled as the new signing of the Serie A side Lazio.
Biancocelesti have confirmed the news on their club website on Wednesday without disclosing any of the details behind the transfer.
It is suggested that Caicedo’s transfer is the subject of a $3.5 million fee. The player himself will be earning $1.7 million a year after giving his nod on a three-year agreement.
Felipe Caicedo underwent the medical checks with the Italian club and is due to return to Barcelona to finish the paperwork before he could join his new teammates in training.
The well-traveled 28-year-old Ecuadorian striker arrives to Italy after three seasons in Spain during which time he played 93 La Liga matches and scored 19 goals.
Caicedo is expected to be a direct replacement for in-demand striker Keita Balde Diao whose departure is imminent.
The Ecuador international will not be arriving to Lazio as a non-EU player given the fact he also holds the Spanish citizenship.
