La Gazzetta dello Sport understands that Ajax forward Anwar El Ghazi is set to join Serie A outfit Lazio.
The Biancocelesti have had a €9 million proposal accepted and they are expected to wrap up the transfer in the coming days.
Lazio have been hot on the trail of the Ajax starlet for quite some time and they decided to act when it became clear that Filip Djordjevic would be leaving the club.
With Balde Diao Keita’s long-term future in doubt, the Biancocelesti had no choice but to reinforce their front line.
Anwar El Ghazi had impressed his his first two years upon getting promoted to the senior set-up at Amsterdam ArenA, bagging 9 and 11 league goals respectively, but he has since suffered a serious dip in form.
However, even though the 21-year-old failed to get on the scoresheet in 10 Eredivisie outings this term, Lazio decided to step up their interest and bring the youngster to Stadio Olimpico.
