Lazio are set to complete the signing of Senegalese defender Moustapha Seck from Barcelona, Il Corriere dello Sport has learned.
The Biancocelesti have already agreed a compensation package with the player’s current employers, believed to be around €200,000.
As a result, the player and his parents arrived to Lazio training centre in Formello yesterday, with the 17-year-old set to put pen to paper on a long-term deal subject to passing a medical.
Moustapha Seck was widely considered as one of the hottest prospects in La Masia, but he has opted to leave Camp Nou in favour of a switch to Italian Serie A.
Seeing as how the defender also holds a Spanish passport, Lazio jumped at the opportunity to lure him to Stadio Olimpico, where he is set to continue his development.
Seck is regarded as a very talented footballer who can play at centre-back and left-back, but he is likely to spend some time in club’s youth squad before being promoted to the first team set-up.
