Lazio step up chase for Antonelli

Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Lazio are set to make an official offer for Genoa full-back Luca Antonelli.

The Biancocelesti officials are working on several deals simultaneously, but the Italy international appears to be their number one target.

Lazio seem prepared to pay €4 million to take the player on a co-ownership deal, but Genoa are reportedly holding out for €7 million.

The good news is the Biancocelesti are still owed money from the sales of Matuzalem and Albano Bizzarri to Stadio Luigi Ferraris and they are looking to use this to their advantage during the negotiations process.

Luca Antonelli, 26, has developed into one of Italy’s top full-backs and he has largely impressed since joining the club from Parma.

Lazio are currently preparing for a high-profile clash against Serie A leaders Juventus, with the Biancocelesti priced at 15/4 to produce a major upset and defeat the reigning champions.
