Il Corriere dello Sport understands that Serie A outfit Lazio are set to submit an official proposal for Twente striker Sebastian Haller.
The Biancocelesti have been scouting the French footballer for quite some time and they finally seem ready to make their interest concrete.
Considering that Serbian striker Filip Djordjevic is highly unlikely to remain at the club beyond the current season, Lazio want Haller to act as back-up to red-hot Ciro Immobile.
As a result, the Biancocelesti plan to start the bidding at €8 million, even though Utrecht reportedly value their star player at €10m-€12m.
With Balde Diao Keita set to represent Senegal at the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, Lazio are keen to wrap up the deal for Haller as soon as possible.
The 22-year-old footballer has been in excellent form since joining Utrecht from Auxerre, making 65 Eredivisie appearances and bagging 35 goals in the process.
