Il Corriere dello Sport is reporting that Lazio are set to purchase the other half of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic’s contract from Genk.
The talented footballer joined the Biancocelesti two years ago, but the Belgian side included a 50% sell-on fee in the deal.
However, Lazio have the option to get rid of said clause by the end of the year in exchange for €9 million and that is precisely what they are looking to do.
Namely, Savic’s value has skyrocketed in the last year or so, with offers of €70 million being bandied about, and no wonder the Biancocelesti aim to become the sole owners of the midfielder’s contract.
The 22-year-old has developed into one of the most exciting prospects in Italian Serie A, scoring 11 goals and setting up as many in 78 competitive outings for the club.
