Lazio want Arsenal centre-back David Luiz on free transfer

According to Corriere dello Sport, as relayed by Sport Witness, Lazio are interested in signing Arsenal central defender David Luiz in the summer of 2021. The former Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain star is out of contract at the Gunners at the end of the season, and Serie A outfit Lazio are reportedly looking into the possibility of securing the services of the Brazilian on a free transfer.

Wesley Hoedt and Matteo Musacchio have not performed as well as expected, and Lazio are now reportedly on the hunt for a new central defender. Simone Inzaghi’s side are sixth in the Serie A table at the moment with 55 points from 29 matches, six points behind fourth-placed Atalanta and could still finish in the Champions League places.

Luiz has been on the books of Arsenal since 2019 and is an important player in manager Mikel Arteta’s team. According to WhoScored, the central defender has made 16 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League, and has made seven appearances in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this season, according to WhoScored.
