Lazio Roma striker Tommaso Rocchi will be out for at least six weeks as result of a leg fracture suffered at the Olympics.
Rocchi suffered the injury a day ahead of Italy’s opening match with Honduras, but medical staff claimed that it was ‘only’ a muscular problem. In fact, the player made an appearance during the second group match, with South Korea, and even managed to score.
Tests in Rome on Monday pointed out that the forward actually broke his right calf-bone, and needs a six weeks recovery time.
In the last four seasons, Rocchi only missed eight matches and scored 58 goals.
