The takeover which led to League Two club Notts County appointing Sven-Goran Eriksson as manager and recruiting Sol Campbell is being investigated by the Football League, it emerged on Monday.
A League spokesman said it was still unclear who was behind Munto Finance, a Switzerland-based consortium of Middle Eastern investors which has bought the club. As a result, the League has not yet formally approved the takeover.
“Discussions are ongoing with regard to the club’s ownership structure,” the spokesman said.
Munto Finance is reportedly backed by Dubai billionaire Abdullah Bin Saeed Al Thani.
