Internacional striker Leandro Damiao admits that he feels ready to join a big European club.
The Brazilian forward is followed by a number of major European clubs including Barcelona, Manchester United and Juventus, meaning we could see a real bidding war for the player’s services in the summer.
The 22-year-old has so far refused to comment on the transfer talk, but he now admits he is ready to move to Europe.
“I’m used to living with rumours of interest from European clubs and have already been sold to several clubs in different countries,” Damiao said to Il Corriere dello Sport.
“The time is right to go to Europe, but only to wear the jersey of a team as strong as Internacional. However, I am ready.”
The promising forward believes that Italian Serie A, English Premier League and Spanish La Liga all suit him well.
“I would like to play in Italy because two of my favourites strikers, Ibrahimovic and Cavani are there.
”But, I think I would also do well in Spain or England.”
The player, who is not so famous outside Brazil, describes himself as a powerful striker who always works for the team.
“I like to see myself as a powerful striker, who never gives up. I always try to steal the ball from defenders, do not let them play quietly, and when my team retrieve the ball I try to get a shot on goal.”
Damiao is seen as one of the most prolific strikers in Brazil, and he made a name for himself by scoring 31 goals in 41 games last season.
He has continued the rich vein of form this term, scoring 5 goals in as many league games for Internacional.
