Serie A giants Napoli are closing in on Zenit midfielder Leandro Paredes, according to the player’s official representative.
The Azzurri have decided to make a move on the former AS Roma starlet after accepting an offer from Man City for Jorginho, and the deal appears to be in the closing stage.
The agent of Leandro Paredes has confirmed that Napoli have already opened talks with Zenit.
“Leandro could return to Italy,” agent Tomislav Erceg told Sport Express. “Napoli want him, there are negotiations with Zenit.”
The Argentine should be available for some €30-€35m after largely impressing in his debut season at Zenit.
Paredes produced 6 goals and 11 assists in 39 competitive fixtures to prove why he is considered one of Argentina’s hottest prospects, but he didn’t make the cut when Jorge Sampaoli announced the country’s World Cup squad.
