As per reports from Fabrizio Romano and The Athletic, Rafael Leao has signed a new contract with AC Milan.
The new five-year deal will keep him on the books until June 2028, with his current contract formerly being set to run out in 2024. The news, obviously, will disappoint a parade of clubs who were hoping to sign him, most notably Liverpool and Chelsea.
The 23-year-old is seen as a player with great potential and up to this point, he’s already proven that he is one of the most assured forwards in Europe.
Milan are currently in the semi-finals of the Champions League and although they’ve got a mountain to climb in the second leg, it just highlights how well they’ve done to get back to the top in recent years.
Leao has been an important part of that and with his new release clause being €175 million, with a €5 million net salary per season plus add-ons, it’s obvious that they value him very, very highly.
