Competition: Premier League
Market: Leeds win
Odds: 11/5 @ 888sport
Looking to shore up their spot in the top-half of the Premier League table, Leeds will make the trip to an empty Amex on Saturday afternoon.
Starting with the hosts, while Brighton might have managed to head into March’s international break with back-to-back wins, they have really failed to keep up that momentum. Although The Seagulls might find themselves holding a seven-point buffer over 18th place Fulham with just five contests remaining, Graham Potter’s men put in another sluggish display last weekend. Knowing that they missed out on a golden chance away at an already relegated Sheffield United, the former Swansea boss saw his side suffer a shock 1-0 defeat at Bramall Lane. With some in their camp maybe still looking over their shoulder at the drop zone, Brighton have failed to win any of their four Premier League contests since opening April. Showing some extended issues in the final third, it should also be noted that The Seagulls have scored just a single strike in any of those four contests.
As for the visitors, deserving of their point against Europa League semi-finalists and rivals Manchester United last weekend, Leeds have come through a tough fixture list in an eye-catching fashion. Despite a run of games that has seen them face off against Manchester City, Liverpool and The Reds in consecutive fixtures, The Whites have gained a string of admirers since marking their Premier League return last year. With their sights firmly set on clinching a top-half finish this season, Marcelo Bielsa’s side are enjoying a six-match unbeaten run. Still boosted by their stunning 2-1 victory away at the soon-to-be champions earlier in the month, there is no doubt that the mood in Leeds’ camp is at a real high. Smelling a golden chance on the South Coast this weekend, don’t be surprised to see Saturday’s guests cash in on their recent purple patch.
