Competition: EFL Cup

Market: Leeds win

Odds: 4/7 @ Bet 365

Two sides opening the new Championship campaign with very different levels of success, a high-flying Leeds will welcome a struggling Stoke side to Elland Road on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, putting in yet another dominant display in their 3-0 win away at Stoke on Saturday and reclaiming their spot at the top of the Championship table, the mood in Leeds’ camp couldn’t be any higher. A hefty favorite to claim the second tier title outright this season, Head Coach Marcelo Bielsa has seen his side enjoy a four-match winning run and their newfound defensive resolve has been hugely impressive for fans around Elland Road. Shipping just a pair of league goals in their opening five appearances, Tuesday’s hosts have recorded four consecutive clean sheets, including one away at the bet365 Stadium over the weekend.

As for the visitors, while Leeds might be enjoying an eye-catching start to the new Championship campaign, Stoke have endured an abysmal opening month. One of just two sides who are still without a win in their opening five contests, former Luton boss Nathan Jones finds his men sat at the foot of the table and could find themselves at the heart of a relegation scrap this season. Now suffering back-to-back defeats, including a 3-1 hammering away at Preston last week, Tuesday will undoubtedly prove to be another tough night for a Stoke side low on both form and confidence.
