According to a recent report from AS, Real Madrid forward Lucas Vasquez – who is wanted by Leeds – has ended contract talks with Real.
There was a lingering expectation that he might end up staying at the Bernabeu but at this point in proceedings, the 29-year-old appears to be on the verge of leaving.
While some will argue that Leeds need to focus on their defensive struggles as opposed to their attacking options, it’s definitely worth noting that Vazquez is the sort of player they could use to build even more squad depth. If nothing else, playing under Marcelo Bielsa is going to be enough of an alluring factor to make Vazquez at least consider it.
The January transfer window seems to be a write off with just a matter of days to go before the window officially slams shut, but in the summer, it could be a whole different ball game.
