Leeds United are interested in signing Ross Barkley from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer transfer window, according to Football Insider. It has been reported that the West Yorkshire club are making a late move for the former Everton attacking midfielder as a potential alternative to Udinese star Rodrigo De Paul.
Although Leeds have held extensive talks with Italian club Udinese over De Paul, the two clubs are unable to agree on a fee for the 26-year-old Argentina international, who can play as an attacking midfielder or as a winger. Former Everton star Barkley is claimed to have emerged as a potential transfer target for Marcelo Bielsa’s side on a loan deal.
Barkley has been on the books of Chelsea since 2018, but the England international attacking midfielder has not managed to establish himself as an integral player of the team. A loan move to Leeds would make sense for both the club and the player.
