Leeds United are in talks with former Manchester United attacking midfielder Juan Mata over a free transfer this summer, according to 90min. The report has claimed that negotiations between Leeds and the 34-year-old Spanish playmaker are going well at the moment.
Mata is a free agent at the moment following his departure from Manchester United at the end of last season. The 34-year-old is happy to make the move to Leeds, whose Director of Football, Victor Orta, is in direct talks.
Leeds, though, are not the only club interested in Mata. Real Betis, Marseille and clubs in Major League Soccer and Turkey all are keen on securing the services of the former Valencia and Chelsea star. During his time at Chelsea, Mata won the FA Cup, the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League, while at Manchester United, he cinched the FA Cup and the UEFA Europa League.
