Leeds United are interested in signing Diego Luna from Real Salt Lake in the January transfer window, according to The Mirror. Leeds have been following Luna for many months now and have explored the possibility of bringing the attacking midfielder to Elland Road in the middle of the season.
The Mirror has claimed that Luna’s current contract with Real Salt Lake runs until December 2026. Although there is no release clause, Real Salt Lake will look for over £3 million because of his fine performances in Major League Soccer.
Luna made 16 starts and nine substitute appearances in Major League Soccer last season. The 21-year-old, who can also play as a winger, scored six goals and gave one assist in those games. Leeds, who could lose Joe Gelhardt to Rangers, are at the top of the Championship table at the moment with 38 points from 19 matches, level on points with second-placed Sheffield United and a point ahead of third-placed Burnley.
