Leeds United are interested in signing Sean McGurk from Wigan Athletic in the January transfer window, according to The Sun. It has been reported by the British tabloid that the Premier League club wanted to secure the services of the 17-year-old midfielder in the summer of 2020, but the Wigan administrators decided not to sell him.
The West Yorkshire club, who are playing in the Premier League this season after winning automatic promotion from the Championship at the end of the 2019-20 campaign, are planning to make a move again for the teenage midfielder when the window opens in January.
Leeds have made a strong start to their Premier League campaign and find themselves fifth in the standings with 10 points from six matches. Meanwhile, Wigan are 18th in the League One table at the moment with seven points from eight matches. The Latics were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season.
