Several football legends took to Hyde Park on Saturday in a special five-a-side match ahead of the Champions League final at Wembley.
Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham, who scored the equaliser when United beat Bayern Munich in the 1999 final in Barcelona, was in action along with old team-mate Andy Cole and Liverpool’s John Barnes.
The World squad featured no less than five Barcelona players and legends including former Brazilian captain Cafu and Nigerian playmaker Jay Jay Okocha.
With the international side beating the English by almost 10 goals, 2010 World Cup referee Howard Webb agreed to change the rules to give the win for the team who scored first after the announcement.
And it was former England left-back Chris Powell who beat French midfielder Christian Karembeu, playing in goal, to give the ‘home’ side the win.
